I Will Survive

I’ve lost so many things I valued
Given up so much I didn’t
I’ve learned so much about me
And I still have a long way to go
I’ve learned to appreciate life while I’m living
And to love myself
I’ve learned to be forgiving
To others but mostly to myself
I’ve learned that even when the pressure is crushing me
And all I want to do is lay down and die… I will survive
I know more darkness is coming
A new challenge appears everyday
But the sun will shine on my face again
And I will say
I will survive
I will thrive
I will stand up and do it again
I won’t cower or retreat
I will fight for me
And when it’s all said and done
I’ll know how far I’ve come
I will have set myself free
From my pain and misery
And I’ll be so happy to be alive
I’ll thank God that I survived
