I Can’t Dance

I can’t dance
I can jump for joy
I can sing at the top of my lungs
I can talk in public in front of a crowd of people
I can listen to a single person in a quiet room
I can write stories and poetry and love letters
I can make jokes and tickle and giggle with delight
I can be happy and look myself in the mirror and be proud
I can make friends and go out and have fun
I can be the center of attention or just sit back and laugh
I can play hide and seek and curl up into little spots and become invisible
I can smile from cheek to cheek and brighten up a room
I can help others
I can help myself
I can’t help everyone
I can’t do everything
I can’t be everyone’s hero
I can only be myself and do the things God wants me to do
But I can’t dance.
And I’m ok with that
