Co-habit-hate

One day we had a fight.
Now I sleep on the couch every night.
I know this isn’t right.
And we don’t do it out of spite.
But our moneys all been spent.
I can’t pay the mortgage and rent.
So I live with my ex spouse
In our ex-family’s house.
I still pay for all of the utilities
But she runs the cold air until my toes freeze
I’ll have to do this for a while
Though it’s cramping up my style
I really can’t wait
Until we separate
But it’s the price I pay
For ever deciding to get married
Now if I could only find out
How to get out of this house
So I just keep on keeping on
And pray each night in the morning she is gone
But until that happens
I’ll just pretend
that she isn’t my wife
And we are just old friends.
