“Don’t worry about the future; or worry, but know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubblegum. The real troubles in your life are apt to be things that never crossed your worried mind; the kind that blind side you at 4pm on some idle Tuesday. “- Sunscreen Song
Once we learn to release our expectation for events that we can not change we gain a new freedom. We gain the ability to look at a situation for what it is presently in our life and really appreciate that. We take a hold of the present to maintain our perspective and calm anxiety for the future. Additionally, living in the present we know in the great scheme of things that this time will pass and all negative experiences will eventually fade away.
In doing this we can then shape the way we continue to think into the future and therefore create our lives in the way we wish rather than the way we think it may possibly unfold.
